This bird is native to North-eastern Africa. I took the photo at a local zoo. The male has pink bare skin patches on its neck and the female's bare patches are black.

This bird is native to North-eastern Africa. I took the photo at a local zoo. They seem to have a mean angry look. Hornbills are the only birds in which the first two neck vertebrae (the axis and atlas) are fused together; this probably provides a more stable platform for carrying the bill.

A green parakeet climbs and pecks on a limb. This bird is native to north and central America (Nicaraugua to Texas). These birds will chew any type of wood. It serves as a good form of entertainment and also helps them to sharpen their beaks
