Heron - Great Blue Heron

A Great Blue Heron walks along the shallow shore of Coulson Pond at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, Feb 10, 2022. It was a calm warm morning for February which made for a perfect reflection and delicate ripple as the bird walked.

Ceresville Flour Mill

A fine art photograph of the historic Ceresville Flour Mill in Frederick County, Maryland on a cold and snowy day. Another mill had existed on the property as early as 1795 but was ultimately razed. The mill standing today was built in 1813 and was originally powered by water from Israel’s Creek, according to the Maryland Historical Trust’s inventory form for historic properties.

Napali Wave #1

A large wave breaks on the rocks along the NaPali Coast, Kauai. 35 mph trade winds were driving this surf.

Waioli Beach, Kauai

Waioli Beach just outside of Hanalei town and is located in the middle of Hanalei Bay. It is locally known as the Pine Trees beach, because of the numerous ironwood pines that line the back of the beach. You can see them in the middle of this photo. The beach is a popular surfing spot among locals. It is home to the annual Pine Tree Classic, a surfing competition open to beginners. This is also where World Champion surfers Bruce and Andy Irons grew up and honed their surfing skills. A large ironwood tree facing the ocean serves as a memorial for Andy who passed away in 2010.

Cinder Desert

Looking down from the summit of Haleakala into the desolate crater that's made up of volcanic cones and cinder. The swirling clouds add to the beauty of this remarkable place.

Byodo-In Temple

Byodo-In Temple sits in the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, Oahu, Hawaii. A beautiful, peaceful setting with the stunning Ko'alau range in the background. The temple is a replica of the historic Byodoin Temple of Uji in Kyoto prefecture of Japan which was established in 1052.

Old Sheldon Church

This historic church has lain in ruin for over 120 years. It was built between 1745-55. Burned in the Revolutionary War. Rebuilt and then burned during the Civil war and wasn’t rebuilt after that. The bones are stll beautiful, especially framed by the twisted branches of Southern Live Oaks and Spanish Moss. Yemassee, South Carolina
