Salt Creek Falls

Salt Creek Falls is Oregon's second highest single-drop waterfall, cascading 286 feet (87m). It's considered a cascade and plunge waterfall on Salt Creek, a tributary of the Middle Fork Willamette River, that plunges into a gaping canyon near Willamette Pass in the Willamette National Forest.

A Brewer's blackbird spotted me while hking near Willamette Pass, Oregon. I like the aspen and blue mist colors.

Crater Lake

The wind was whipping as you can see on the water. The color of the water was an incredible blue. The lake's water comes directly from snow or rain -- there are no other water sources. This means no sediment or mineral deposits are carried into the lake, helping it maintain its rich color and making it one of the cleanest and clearest lakes in the world.

A panorama of the Painted Hills which is about 10 miles northwest of Mitchell, Oregon. The park is part of the John Day Fossils Bed National Monument where you can find leaf fossils from 39-30 million years old and animal fossils from 30-27 million years ago.

Our photography workshop came here early and even though it was cloudy the views were amazing. The Crooked River is an awesome trout stream. I heard a big splash, looked and there is a big trout swimming away.

Perregrine Falcon

I spotted this perregrine falcon several hundred feet up on a cliff behind the Yaquina Head Lighthouse outside Newport, Oregon. The bird was molting and plucking its feathers.
