Smugglers Notch, Vermont

Wow! What a journey. It was a foggy, windy, and rainy day up on the mountain. The road winds around boulders and beneath 1,000-foot high cliffs that hem it down to one-lane. Out of this world scenery with trees growing on top of boulders with roots slowly winding their way around the rock.

Smugglers' Knotch

In the late 18th and early 19th century, only a footpath and trail for horses existed here.
